I'm starting this blog to show you the inner workings of my mind. This acts as a sketch journal, where I show various sketches that could either lead to finished pieces, or may never be finalized. I love looking in other people's sketchbooks and often find myself on Google looking at pages from other artists' sketchbooks.
Final pieces look great, but there's something about sketches that I like more. It's more personal, and I can see what the artist did to get to the final piece.
Anyway, here are some pieces to start things going. They're not recent, but I still like them. I'll try to post sketches at least once a week. If I have final pieces posted somewhere on the Internet I'll post a link to them. Let's begin.
This is the sketch that started it all. Well, not really. I have the final piece that you can see here.
Creepy Mad Hatter. I was going to do this one with traditional materials, but I just never got around to getting it out of the sketchbook.
These last two I drew one night while watching TV. Only one of them was ever finished. It was done digitally. It was a lot of fun. You can see the final piece here.
Looking at this last one, I'm thinking about doing something more with it. I don't know if you can read what's under his foot, but I had apparently sketched it sometime after 3AM. I don't know why the time was relevant.
So that's it for now. Stay tuned and you'll see more from me. Maybe next time there will be a mix of old ones and new ones.
